creating a new personality on the internet.
how hard would it be to create a entirely new personality to use online? all you need to seem credible is a picture of yourself, an e-mail probably and a name. maybe an address too if you want to trick them real bad. if you've had this thought, it's your lucky day!
using thispersondoesnotexist.com, it's really easy. it's a project by nvidia to use their deep learning algorithms to create faces that aren't real based on other, real faces. this sometimes lead to abominations, but most of the time, it works scarily well.
so now all you need is an e-mail, which is easy to set up, and a fake name. there are a ton of fake name generators on the web, you can even search for names of a specific nationality and get results.
so, in conclusion, it's extremely easy to create a fake identity, with the help of nvidia. thanks nvidia.
there is still the question of tracking, and yes, websites can track you when you visit them and find out where you live. this information will probably not get published as it is illegal (i hope), but there's always tor/vpns for those that want the extra security.
