The central pin is used for communication between the computer and the power adapter following the 1-Wire protocol. Your picture shows two wires -- black, and green/brown. By convention, black is ground, so that would make the other wire +16.5VDC -- therefore, the black wire is the outer pins and the green/brown wire is the inner pins. However, in order to avoid blowing up your expensive computer, please double-check the polarity of your power supply using a voltmeter.
