goodbye, Fedora 12
Well, I think it was REALLY bad luck to mention possibly making Fedora 12 a recurring topic here on this blog, because just yesterday, I found out that I don't have the ability to upgrade it any further without entirely recompiling the system and upgrading to packages found often in 2016. The reason? glibc. It turns out that my kernel, 4.9 (which I gave a funny heho name to) is COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY INCOMPATIBLE with my version of Linux. WEEEEEEEEEEE! So basically, unless I recompile everything against a newer version of the GNU libc, I'm stuck with a completely broken system. NIIIIIIIICE! So yeah. Project's over. Tuff. I installed Debian (wj hates that so much) and proceeded to install MATE because MATE is the only desktop environment allowed in my house.
